From new believer to disciple maker. Scripture-centered, one-to-one discipleship that leads to practical obedience, with a discipler walking alongside each learner.
The problem
Churches can reach people without having a clear pathway for helping those people grow. A new believer may attend services, hear sermons, join activities, and sincerely identify with Christ while still asking, What do I do next?
Without an intentional discipleship system, biblical knowledge can remain disconnected from practice, spiritual growth can become dependent on occasional teaching, and ministry activity can exist without a clear progression toward maturity and multiplication.
The why
Jesus commanded His followers not merely to make converts but to make disciples. Matthew 28:19–20
JOURNEY exists to provide a clear, repeatable, Scripture-centered pathway that helps a believer move from knowing about Christianity toward knowing Christ, following Christ, growing in Christ, living for Christ, serving others, sharing the gospel, and helping others become disciples.
The how
Each JOURNEY workbook has its own length. The timing below comes from the published workbooks:
- The First Step7-day devotional
- Module 1 · Follow Christ10 weekly one-to-one meetings · about 10 weeks
- Module 2 · Grow Deep13 weekly meetings · 90 daily readings · 90 days
- Modules 3–5Workbooks in preparation
In the published modules, each one-to-one meeting lasts 45–60 minutes and follows the 4Ws: Welcome, Worship, Word and Work.
The Word study in every lesson moves through:
- Understanding
- Biblical discovery
- Discussion
- Application
- Practice
- Prayer
- Reflection
- Next step
The design also incorporates key structural elements studied from the Timothy Two manual:
- One-to-one investment
- Christ-centered living
- Memory Scripture
- Bible reading
- Practical assignments
- Progress tracking
- Fellowship
- Witnessing
- Obedience
- Ministry
- Multiplication
What to expect
JOURNEY is not simply a reading plan. It is a formation pathway.
The learner is expected to read Scripture, understand it in context, respond in faith, practice obedience, reflect honestly, pray, discuss with others where possible, and progressively become capable of helping another person follow Christ.
